Saba and Sportscraft

Here a few shots of the flowers I did last week for SABA and Sportscraft, it was for the launch of their new collection. I love the rich purple/red combination of the short black vases……hot, hot, hot!

Dinner Party Flowers

Ahhh, the heavenly hydrangea! I just love this table setting, the shape of the flowers and the shape of the vases work so well together. Big, fluffy and blue and white, they remind me of clouds. I did these vases 3 weeks ago and I only threw out the hydrangea stems yesterday……that must be a record??

Green and white always looks so fresh, especially in when placed in a neutral environment……the green really ‘pops’ in this photo.

Tea Party

Posted in Uncategorized on February 16th, 2010 by Beebop

I wanted to crate a tea party setting with some bright flowers and shoot them on a table outside in the sunshine. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain that day so we were confined to my kitchen and had to use the benchtop as a table. You would never know though, thanks to the photographers clever lighting. (thanks Carleen!) And the white backround actually makes the flowers stand out more.
The cupcakes did not go to waste, in case u were wondering……

Hot Pink

I just love the colours in this pink table arrangement, they are really summery and have a happy vibe……although we took these in winter!

I am using the ‘studio’ again (our back yard) and luckily we had fantastic light and everything went well, I was really happy with how the flowers turned out. Thanks to my trusty photographer and friend, Carleen Seeto http://www.carleenseeto.com.au/ who has taken most of the flower shots on this site.

Wedding Flowers

Posted in Uncategorized on February 12th, 2010 by Beebop

Some wedding themed flowers that I did last year…..not actually a real wedding but it could have been….

So much effort, but worth it….

Aaah, the gigantic, wired rose. I did this at Jane Packer floral design school (in 2006), you can see the original rose in the center of the flower. All of the other petals have been individually hand wired and tied together to make it look a whole lot bigger. Stunning in real life but what a pain in the ass to produce. The black things are pearl pins……not really to my taste.

Meeting the Master

Picture of Jane Packer and myself, after I had finished my floristry course in Dec 2006 at the flower school she owns in London.
Little did she know that I would be starting my own floristry empire after learning her tricks of the trade………lol.

For the love of flowers……

These are some shots that were done last year in June, myself and my photographer friend (more about her later) were playing with flowers and light and different settings. We dont have a studio so have been taking the shots at my place. Oh look, there i am in the picture on the table…..!
I am not normally a fan of yellow, but the burst of colour works fantastically in this grouping. Bellissimo!
